In 1987, Davis was living on a farm near Carthage that was little more than an empty cornfield. The original Red Oak, like many other rural agricultural towns across the country, started to fade sometime after World War II, when people began to move to the cities in earnest.Īfter Davis had left the area for a number of years, he returned in the 1970s to find his home town had become a ghost town. Red Oak II was actually the brainchild of artist Lowell Davis who grew up in the “real” Red Oak, Missouri, about 18 miles northwest of the “new” Red Oak II. But, it has authentic old buildings, and an old cemetery, and it looks like a ghost town. ![]() ![]() ![]() Town Hall in Red Oak, Missouri by Kathy Alexander.Ī couple of miles northeast of Carthage, Missouri and just off Route 66 is Red Oak II – a ghost town, but not really. ![]() ![]() It employed songs about heartbreak and longing as a means to transport the listener to an opulent, cinematic fantasy world. A refined collision of bossa nova smoothness, Beatlesque psychedelia and torrid boleropathos, balada used art-pop instrumentation (mostly strings and harpsichords) and the warmth of analogue recording to maximum effect. What Quesada had discovered was the sophisticated – and slightly delirious – cultural movement of balada music that blossomed throughout Latin America between the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. I almost expected Wu-Tang Clan to come on and start rapping.” The music was sinister, so overly dramatic in a super funky way that sounded like a hip-hop sample. I then went to a record store that sold mostly Regional Mexican, got a Greatest Hits compilation and listened to it for many nights in a row. “I was like, what the hell is this? Sounds like a romantic breakup on LSD. “I swear to God, I had to pull over because I had never heard anything like it,” he recalls with a laugh. Quesada was mesmerized by the song’s dark, baroque melodrama. It all began with the psychedelic weirdness of Los Pasteles Verdes.Ībout 20 years ago, guitarist, producer and Black Pumas co-founder Adrian Quesada was driving in his home base of Austin, Texas when the 1975 balada classic “Esclavo y Amo” by Peruvian band Los Pasteles Verdes played on a local AM station. ![]() ![]() This will conflict with any mod that modifies the UI tuning SimData file (545AC67A-006CA304-4AD169DBEC547AEA). This only effects Batuu, not the other worlds. To travel out of Batuu, you’ll need to click the “Go Home” button in the Sim viewer. Because of how the UI is coded, you can’t access the world select screen while a Sim is in Batuu, even with this mod installed.Moving into Batuu is not possible because of how the world works differently from other worlds.Įven without a venue mod, this mod will still allow your Sims to freely travel between those worlds. *In order to move into one of those worlds, you will need a venue mod, such as Venue Changes, to be able to set lot types to Residential. This mod turns Destination Worlds - Granite Falls, Selvadorada and Batuu - into Residential worlds, which allows Sims to live in them* and freely travel between them. ![]() ![]() For addtional effect you can combine all this with the CAS lighting mod (free) and some CAS poses (most are free). You also will need CAS backgrounds (free), this is basically your background scene or color. You’ll need S4TI and IrfranView (or Paint).Method is basically taking screenshots, while inside CAS, with customīackgrounds & poses, then replace the images within the tray files with Simply put - this is not possible in-game - you have to alter / replace the preview images for each sim outside the game. It still requires some efford & mods but if you lazy & want your sims stand out on the gallery read on… My method requires no photoshop, no gimp, no greenscreens, no editing, no reshade, no hours wasted… There are already other tutorials out there on how to do it, but as you may know, I’m lazy af and usually don’t edit anything. So I made this quick tutorial how I do it. I often get asked how to change / make the colored / background preview images for the ts4 gallery. How to change the gallery preview images (ts4) ![]() ![]() The thing that puts Google Chrome aside from all the others browsers ever since it was launched is that each tab has its own running process (tab isolation), so that when one of them crashes you can simply close the tab, so you are not forced to shut down the entire application.Īnother aspect that might convince users to choose Google Chrome as their default browser is that it automatically offers translation for the pages that are in foreign languages, thus saving them the time they would otherwise spend looking for an online translation service. It is updated on a regular basis, but, unlike its desktop counterpart, each new release needs to be downloaded separately and installed on top of the old one. Google Chrome Portable is among the first such applications that comes to mind when looking for a browser that runs great out-of-the-box. This is why a portable browser is the ideal choice to keep our favorite webpages at hand, while still retaining the reassuring feeling of working with a familiar browser. Each of us has a preferred browser and we like to access certain websites on a regular basis. ![]() ![]() Just no cooperation! I get the same results from the newly downloaded and installed FoxPro 2.6 from the Internet. No FoxPro main screen, no command window. The same results were happening: the brief splash screen and then shut down. There has to be some common connection, shouldn't there?ġ) Yes, I tried launching FoxPro 2.6 directly from its own directory folder, but it didn't help any. Bold the old copy and the new download as well - same problem. Why only FoxPro is affected is what puzzles me. Regarding your last question, everything else (other appliccations, internet, etc.) works well as it always has. I'm not getting that far at all! Just the brief splash screen which disappears in only a few seconds. The second suggestion is for MS's ODBC driver, This problem would probably show up once FoxPro 2.6 has begun functioning in normal fashion with a blank screen and the command window open to receive input from the user. Click the icon, the splash screen pops up very briefly and then just goes away. I also immediately patched via a DOS Command window and patch2x.exe) the new instance recently downloaded from the Internet, but it too acted in the same way as my original FoxPro was doing. I have never received the error message "Divide by zero or overflow error" as I had patched FoxPro for that problem many years ago. Hope you're not being bothered too much by Matthew and his shenanigns! ![]() |
